BYD crossover designed by a former Audi designer debuted in China

Chinese automaker BYD introduced the Sea Lion 07 crossover at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The design of the new product was developed under the leadership of Wolfgang Egger, who previously worked at Audi and is currently BYD’s chief designer. In this respect reports carnewschina.com.

The electric car is part of the Ocean family and the production version of the Ocean-X concept. It is based on the BYD 3.0 platform, on which the Song L crossover is also built. BYD Sea Lion 07 is expected to compete with the American Tesla Model Y in the Chinese market. The cost of the car will be 200 thousand yuan (2.4 million rubles at the exchange rate at the time of publication).

BYD, which plans to sell 3 million cars in 2023, sales exceeded 308 thousand units as of the end of October.
