The business on the supply of cars to Russia through parallel imports is gradually beginning to end. In this respect reports “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” refers to the head of the press service of the analytical agency “Autostat” Azat Timerkhanov.
“Now we see that the automotive industry is more or less recovering, dealers are focusing on Chinese brands again, so parallel imports are slowly starting to decrease, which seems quite logical. Moreover, its share in total new passenger car sales is not very high; in the range of 10 to 15 percent per month,” Timerkhanov told the publication.
Parallel imports were introduced by the government as a temporary measure at a time when many foreign automakers have stopped supplying cars and their factories have also been shut down due to sanctions and disruptions in parts supply. The expert reminded that he supported the market during the revival of production and the reduction of dealer stocks from previous supplies.
It was previously known that there was a record in October decreased Import of cars from Japan to the Russian Federation.
