In the village of Potapovo near Moscow, a passenger car destroyed the monument to the peasants who died for their homeland during the Great Patriotic War. Local residents reported this to socialbites.ca.

According to eyewitnesses, a car without a license plate crashed into the monument on the night of October 23. Unidentified people left the car on the monument and immediately fled the scene. They also destroyed a newly installed lamp post.

“These kinds of events make me want to cry. My great uncle’s name is written on this monument. They touched me and my family instantly,” said Potapovo resident Tatyana.

Police said no criminal case had yet been opened and declined to comment further.
