The start of sales of cars of the Chinese brand SWM in Russia was postponed for an indefinite period. informs portal “Chinese cars” with a link to the press service of the brand.
While the SWM crossovers are scheduled to hit the market on May 31, the brand’s website has started the countdown to the start of sales. Company representatives attributed the delay to factors beyond the brand’s control and promised to reveal the actual date in the near future.
In April, SWM brand cars started to be produced at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. The first in Russia will be a full-size SUV G05 Pro with two compact crossovers SWM G01 and SWM G01F. They will be equipped with an additional set of hot options for the Russian market. Cars will cost 2-3 million rubles. SWM plans to sell 2,000 cars per month.
The Shineray Group has been in existence since 1997 and has been producing automobiles, motorcycles and special equipment under the SWM (Speedy Working Motors) brand since 2016. Initially, the Italian brand SWM produced motorcycle equipment from 1972 to 1984.
