“Don’t slam the door!” drivers often ask their passengers. And they are absolutely right in their requests: careless handling of the door can cause a number of malfunctions.
First of all, these are locks in the doors. The result of strong blows through the door can be the loosening of the mechanism and its failure. Especially in cold weather, when metal alloys become brittle, and with strong shocks, some parts crack and break.
Are subject to temperature influences and plastic details. Central locking guides or security system actuators can fly off, break or warp in a crash. As a result, one of the locks will not close properly when you press a button on the key fob, creating the risk of the door being blocked.
Sometimes moisture gets into the lock and, when frozen, disrupts the operation of the mechanism. When the door is then hit, the moving parts block and the door stops closing completely. After the blow, she bounces back.
Electric window drives can break from hard knocks at the door. They weaken, causing squeaks and strange noises.
And in general, the driver perceives a loud knock on the door as a lack of respect for him personally.
