Expert opinion

Maxim Kadakoveditor-in-chief of the magazine “Behind the wheel”:

– It feels like a pretty nice car, quite on par with cars of the same class. It drives well, responds well to the steering wheel, turns and slows down even in this wintry slush. There are pros and cons – well, like everyone else.

I think the main drawback of the car — the price. Yes, it is quite marketable (at the moment), but people were waiting for a “people’s” car with a price of 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles.

Meanwhile, the price of 1 million 970 thousand for a car with mechanics, the price for a version with a CVT bye they did not name it, I believe it will be 2 million 100 thousand, and in the highest trim levels it will be even higher. But it is clear that SKD cannot give a price advantage over the Chinese counterpart (JAC JS4).

Since the purchasing power of the population has fallen, people are not willing to give that kind of money. They say this: “For this money, I prefer to buy a second-hand “Japanese”, left-hand drive on the secondary market, “Chinese” under the order, etc. That is, this is a normal ordinary offer, but not what motorists dreamed of.

Who is going to buy these cars? Of course also private individuals, but purchases are mainly planned for state needs, for car sharing, taxis. Middle officials are also ready to drive a Moskvich, if only not a Grant.

But in general, it is very good that the enterprise was not razed to the ground and no residential complex was built here. But there were such proposals. Thank goodness there are plenty of people out there who understand the importance of preserving the plant and ultimately turning it into a seriously profitable production. I really hope this will work.”
