The popularity of SUVs and crossovers has forced premium manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Ferrari to enter the segment. But long before that, in 1981, Lamborghini had an SUV.

Named LM001, the car was based on the Cheetah SUV developed by Lamborghini in the late 1970s in hopes of selling it to the US military. The army was not interested in the car, so they turned a military car into a civilian car and presented it at the Geneva Motor Show in 1981. But the concept did not go into production.

Later, in 1986, the LM002 was introduced at the Brussels Motor Show. The SUV aroused great interest and entered the series. Today there is an auction where one of them is for sale. The final price of the car is expected to be between $200,000 and $250,000 (12.5-15.5 million rubles).
