Through the court, the Twitter company required SpaceX chairman Elon Musk to deliver all text messages on his smartphone for the first half of 2022. According to the agency BloombergThe social network explains this decision by the fact that the billionaire withheld evidence of a deal to buy the company for $44 billion.
The appeal says U.S. Judge Catalyn McCormick must order Musk to publish all personal correspondence from January 1 to July 8 of this year. Twitter also asked for messages from Musk’s chief assistant Jared Birchall for the same period. According to them, Birchall was actively involved in the financing of the acquisition of the social network.
Twitter lawyers say Musk and his lawyers acted in bad faith as part of the settlement. Musk’s lawyers deny any wrongdoing regarding the pre-trial exchange of information. According to them, it hides real information, on the contrary, the company hides Twitter itself.
Lawyers claim that the social network has launched a campaign to hide witnesses with data on the amount of spam and bots on the platform. It was these data that caused Musk to refuse to take the social network.
Alex Spiro, one of Musk’s lawyers, said: “As Twitter’s efforts to cover up information and witnesses have not been successful, they are now trying to divert attention with this nonsense.”
It was previously reported in a letter to Musk’s lawyers to Twitter. summoned to court for the testimony of Peter Zatko, the company’s former head of security, who criticized the systems for protecting user data.
