Microsoft officially recognized the problem in Windows 11 24h2, which has caused update blocking on a number of devices. This reported by portal Neowin.
According to the source, while trying to update the update, users are faced with 0x80240069 error with an unexpected completion of the WUAUServe service. As a result, the load and installation process does not either start or are interrupted.
Initially, Microsoft limited the spread of Windows 11 24h2 due to compatibility problems, but the current blocking causes a technical malfunction in the update mechanism rather than hardware restrictions. The official coding of Windows error codes has not yet contained information about the 0x80240069 code. It is known that the problem is related to the KB505528 patch, which was released on April 8, 2025 and influences systems using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and SCCM.
Currently, the company does not offer a bypass and conducts an investigation without specifying the deadline dates to eliminate a fault. It is recommended that users avoid uploading 24H2 update to the correction view by Microsoft.
