The vast majority of the inhabitants of Russia face the problem of forgetting passwords from various online services that require the restoration of access to accounts. This was reported to the “Gazeta.ru” in the press service of the Kaspersky Laboratory, referring to the results of the survey.
According to the study, 16%of the participants forget regularly or frequently, sometimes 37%and rarely -35%. Experts in the field of cyber security emphasize that such an attitude towards the storage of accounting data does not only discomfort in the use of services, but also increases risks significantly in terms of digital security.
Experts explain that the features of the work of human memory, such as selectivity and forgetting function, play an important role. The brain better recalls information with personal importance, causing strong emotions, usually repetitive or easily associated with existing information. At the same time, efforts that rarely use or require efforts to memorize data such as complex passwords are often changed. The function of forgetting is a normal and important health process in the regulation of emotions and updating information.
In order to increase the protection level of accounts, it is important not only to create reliable passwords, but also to provide secure storage areas. It is recommended that you refuse to save a combination on paper or create screenshots. An effective solution is the use of password managers. These applications make it possible to facilitate data for input and to eliminate the need to remember many complex combination-just remember only one main conditional evacuation to access the application itself.
If you need to restore access, you should be careful: You should not use open answers to check the questions. For example, if the tip is interested in your favorite color, it is better to use the special shadow, not a common name.
Another effective memorization method, including complex symbolic combinations, is the use of associations. The association should only be unique and understandable to the user itself.
