85% of Russian residents use musical flow services. Such data were provided by the Romir Institute, which examines the attitude of the Russians to music streams.
Institute analysts, musical catalog and the usability of new versions remained important for the audience when choosing flow, but today the competition between services and products are increasingly realized in the field of product and technology.
According to the study, four out of five music flow (78%) are carried out for more than half an hour a day with such services. Most of the time, he listens to more audience in Yandex music (59%) and 52% in VK music, while in the segment of 18 to 24 years. MTS is used by 10%of classmates by sound and music – each 9%. The total share of foreign services (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, etc.) was 19%.
Almost all flow users (87%) use the algorithms of personal suggestions of musical services such as “wave”, “mix”, “sound power”. Algorithms become a convenient way to listen to music as soon as the user is busy with some jobs or there is no time to seek parts independently.
Often, the participants apply to recommendations during the household jobs (50%) and on the road (46%), slightly less frequently during a walk and work – 23%and 22%, respectively. In 15%of cases, they may be included in a meeting with friends in sports training (14%) and before bedtime (12%).
Almost half of the flow services users (48%) said Yandex music algorithms are most accurate in their musical preferences. VK music in the second place (32%). MTS music, sound and music classmates each scored about 5%.
In addition, one of the main factors of choosing music flow is the usability and convenience of the service on different platforms.
As a rule, users prefer to listen to music services through mobile applications (51%), listening to web versions less twice (25%) from a smartphone. Smart speakers use 29% of listeners.
Depending on half of the participants, the most suitable options for listening to different platforms and devices are presented by Yandex Music and followed by VK Music (32%). The remaining services did not receive more than 5%.
A study attended by 1000 people between the ages of 18-59 was carried out on the basis of the consumer panel “Romir”.
