India changes its mind on developing 5G networks

The Indian government has changed its mind on developing 5G networks in the current format. By india timesNow only Indian providers will be able to do installation work.

Previously, India used the services of Chinese and European suppliers for these purposes. Authorities thought they would be replaced by local companies such as Shyam VNL, HFCL and TCS-Tejas. The government is also worried about possible data leakage using 5G telecom equipment.

Ashwini Vaishnow, head of the Indian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, said that officials will invest between $20 and $30 billion in the creation of 5G over the next 2-3 years. He warned that the use of Chinese or European technologies by companies would lead to penalties from the Indian authorities.
