The Hyundai Motor Group joined the increasing number of companies and states in South Korea, which forbade its employees from using a chat boat with China Artificial Intelligence Deepseek. The decision, which was announced on Friday, stems from fears of the potential leakage of hidden data in China. About it reports Korean Times Broadcast.
The forbidden is valid for the employees of the key units of the group, including Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai Glovis.
Hyundai Motor Group watched an example of other major technological companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and SK Hynix, limiting the use of Deepseek R1 AI on corporate devices.
“This step is part of our preventive actions against a potential data leakage in China. We will continue to implement this policy by following the actions of our foreign partners. ”
Financial institutions have also taken measures. Korea’s four largest banking groups – KB, Shinhan, Hana and Woori – recently banned access to Deepseek in company networks. Similar measures were taken by internet banks Toss Bank and Kakaobank.
Currently, the National Assembly is developing a legislative framework for such measures. Kyung deputy won from the ruling party proposed a bill that prevents access to R1 for state organs and organizations.
Deepseek said that more than 1.2 million Korean users attracted more than 1.2 million Korean users with a free service launched last month. It is about lack of information about how the data on servers are processed in China.
Previously honor announced Dangerous Deepseek AI’s introduction to smartphones.
