By decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Roskomnadzor blocked one of the largest information portals Sakhalin Sakh.com and Sakhalin.info. Alexander, an employee of the company, said in an interview with socialbites.ca that the company plans to appeal the decision of Roskomnadzor when he learned about the reasons for blocking sites. According to him, the portal complied with all the instructions of the department and the requests of law enforcement officials in a timely manner.
“First of all, we want to know the reasons for blocking all our sites. Knowing what to complain about. Of course, we want to understand why. We followed all RKN’s instructions on time. All requests from law enforcement and supervisory authorities were also processed in a timely manner. Staff were of course shocked. But over the 23 years of the company’s existence, our team has experienced many crises and attacks from different directions. There were rumors in the forum section that someone had applied to the prosecutor’s office for comment. But these are rumors and speculations,” he said.
Alexander added that the portal administration will decide to update or limit some parts of the resource as soon as the reason for the blocking becomes clear.
“We will make decisions to close, update or limit any section if we know exactly what caused the blocking and what laws we violated as the management of the resource,” the Sakh.com employee said.
