Former Apple chief designer Jony Ive’s LoveFrom company has teamed up with Italian brand Moncler to present an unusual 3-in-1 modular jacket. The portal reports iXBT.
An important piece of clothing is the insulated yellow vest designed for cold weather. The vest can be worn separately or combined with one of three modules: poncho, parka or jacket. These modules are attached to the vest using DUO magnetic buttons, reminiscent of the MagSafe on the iPhone.
Each module is made from a single piece of recycled nylon, folded to perfection in a way that recalls the kimono-making technique. Production is reportedly done using a unique loom typically used to make bed linens.
The company has spent nearly four years creating the unusual clothing. The collection goes on sale on September 24, with prices yet to be determined.
Jonathan “Jony” Ive is the former chief design officer of Apple and is best known for designing the iMac, aluminum and titanium PowerBook G4, MacBook, MacBook Pro (Unibody), iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
Formerly known as HMD Global presented an unusual smartphone with a modular design.
