Microsoft will allow Windows 11 users to completely remove the Recall feature from their computers. The portal reports this PC World.
Recall for Windows 11 uses AI to automatically create and analyze screenshots on your computer for the purpose of creating a user story. However, despite the supposed benefits, the innovation has been criticized for the large amount of data created and stored, as well as the constant creation of screenshots, which many see as espionage.
In response to these concerns, Microsoft has paused the official rollout of Recall, returning it to a development and testing phase accessible only to members of the Windows Insider program. With the upcoming KB5041865 update, users will be able to remove Recall entirely, making the feature an optional feature rather than part of the system.
To remove Recall, you need to open Control Panel, select Programs, then Turn Windows features on or off and uncheck the box next to Windows Recall.
According to the source, Microsoft plans to make an official statement on this issue soon.
Previously Microsoft and Google warned Chrome users are alerted to a dangerous security vulnerability.
