To avoid turning your smartphone into a “brick,” you should follow certain recommendations, the head of the telephony department of the MTS retail network, Natalya Golitsyna, told socialbites.ca.
“One of the first rules is to be careful with updates. When a new version of the operating system is released, many users tend to upgrade immediately. However, it is recommended to wait at least a week to learn about possible bugs and problems that may arise after the update,” Golitsyna warned.
He also noted that you should not install apps from unverified sources, as this can lead to malware installation. It is recommended to download apps only from official stores, otherwise scammers can launch phishing programs and hijack personal data and bank accounts.
“A vulnerability was recently discovered where you can disable the device interface by typing the character string “”::. This crash can occur due to different combinations of these characters with others in the latest versions of iOS. This opens the lock screen with disabled functions and resets data. We do not recommend giving your phone to strangers. Those who have the automatic app update function enabled may also suffer from such errors,” he said.
It is also important to back up your data. This will help restore information in case of device failure. Golitsyna also recommends keeping up with new technical updates and staying up to date on current security threats.
Previously users warned about “breaking” the iPhone symbols on the keyboard.
