Elon Musk’s Company X has informed employees that it will be closing its San Francisco headquarters. reports Fortune cited a source inside the company.
According to the source, X sent employees a short notice that included a closing date of September 13, 2024 for the San Francisco office. Employees are planned to be transferred to the company’s branches in San Jose and Palo Alto. The location of X’s new headquarters has not yet been determined, but Fortune suggests it could open in Texas.
The Washington Post previously reported that the move may be due to some staff reductions at the San Francisco office following Twitter’s renaming to X, as well as many remaining employees continuing to work remotely since the pandemic.
