VK launches unified cloud storage for video 10:07

VK Holding has combined video content from various platforms into a single cloud storage, the volume of which exceeded 1.5 billion GB. This is stated in the company’s message, reports TASS.

VK combined video content from VK Video, Zen and OK.Video platforms.

“Its volume exceeded 1.5 exabytes, or 1.5 billion GB. This is the largest library of video content among Russian platforms,” the message states.

The company said the peak volume of new content downloads this summer reached 1 petabyte per day, and the creation of a cloud library will increase the reliability of video storage.

VK’s storage appeared against the background of the slowdown in the work of YouTube in Russia. Since August 8, the hosting has ceased to open in the browser version on PCs and in applications on Smart TV.

Before that, Kommersant reportedHe said that Russian providers have begun to implement solutions on their networks that allow subscribers to overcome YouTube slowdowns.

Medvedev earlier statedI don’t think it’s a good thing that YouTube is slowing down.
