Google Disables Russian Bloggers’ Monetization on YouTube Without Warning 17:54

Google suddenly started deleting AdSense accounts of Russian bloggers without any notification from YouTube, one of the writers who lost their ability to earn money told socialbites.ca.

On August 14, Google unexpectedly began shutting down AdSense accounts for YouTube bloggers in Russia, and even users who had not received any warning letters from the company were hit with restrictions.

“Monetization is not possible because the AdSense for YouTube account associated with your channel has been deleted,” Russian creators note in the monetization section of YouTube Creative Studio.

On August 12, some bloggers from Russia received letters stating that their AdSense accounts will be disabled at the end of August and will stop working in Russia from September. However, bloggers who had their monetization turned off two days later did not even receive such notifications. It is not known what this is connected with.

AdSense monetization helped bloggers earn money by displaying ads on their videos. Google shut down monetization and ad display for users in Russia in 2022, but bloggers continued to earn money through impressions in other countries.

Previously reportedGoogle will disable its BigQuery service for Russia starting September 9, it said.
