Roskomnadzor (RKN) sent an official letter to the App Store administration demanding the removal of all restrictions on the mobile application of the Russian video hosting site Rutube. reports RIA Novosti, citing the text of the RKN letter.
According to Roskomnadzor, the letter demands not only the lifting of restrictions, but also informing the agency that this condition has been met and providing explanations for removing the application from the App Store.
The day before yesterday, the Rutube app disappeared from the App Store. Shortly afterwards, the video hosting site explained that the reason for the deletion was Apple’s sanctions and promised to make every effort to return it to the platform as soon as possible.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the Rutube application has been blocked from the App Store. In June of this year, the application was already temporarily blocked, but ten days later it was again available to users.
In addition to RuTube, clients of video services such as NUUM, “VK Clips” and “VK Video” and more are available for download in the App Store for Russians.
