Users of Amazon Kindle devices have complained online about issues downloading purchased e-books. reports “Habr” portal.
According to complaints on Reddit, book downloads are stuck at 30%. Restarting and updating the Kindle or changing the Wi-Fi doesn’t help solve the problem. After contacting Amazon support, users are offered to return their devices under warranty.
Messages about this malfunction also appeared on the company’s official forum. In this case, the book loading stops at 1%. One user noted that the problem affects all Kindle devices.
Amazon Devices spokesperson Jackie Burke said the glitch affecting the ability to download e-books was resolved immediately.
According to Good e-Reader, Amazon support blamed the issue on a server failure. The company promised to restore book downloads within 48 hours, but warned that it could take longer.
Amazon support has advised users encountering the issue to restart their devices by holding down the power button for 40 seconds and then try downloading the book again.
The glitch also affected downloading books from OverDrive to Kindle via the Libby app, but did not affect the Amazon Kindle apps for iOS and Android.
