Until 2022, artificial intelligence technologies were hidden from the eyes of consumers and used to improve services and products and optimize processes. But thanks to Transformers, a deep neural network architecture created a few years ago, artificial intelligence is becoming the final product. The moderator of the session, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, head of Sberbank’s department for the development of advanced artificial intelligence technologies, scientific advisor of AIRI, Semyon Budyonny, told this at the session “Journey of Artificial Intelligence: a journey into the world of artificial intelligence”. Organized within the scope of SPIEF.
According to Semyon Budyonny, today the entry threshold is being lowered for users who are not experts in the field of artificial intelligence.
This has been made possible, among other things, by the rise of generative artificial intelligence.
“Nowadays, it is becoming difficult to distinguish synthesized content from human-generated content,” he said.
St. Hovhannes Petrosyan, Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at St. Petersburg State University, spoke about the development of artificial intelligence of things (AIoT).
He explained that this technology uses algorithms and artificial intelligence to expand the capabilities of Internet of Things devices, making them smarter, more efficient and more autonomous. Therefore, in a smart home, AIoT refers to the integration of AI technologies with IoT devices.
“This combination allows smart devices to learn from users, adapt to their preferences and make decisions based on the collected data,” added Petrosyan.
Alexey Osadchiy, head of the scientific group “Neuro Interfaces” at the AIRI Institute and director of the Center for Bioelectric Interfaces at the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University, talked about how to talk to the human brain using artificial intelligence.
He noted that future research in systems neuroscience will be largely driven by the availability of neural interface tools that enable bidirectional and context-dependent interactions with neural tissue.
“Such interfaces will be able to naturally adapt to the work of neural tissues, adapt to their functional state and interact with them by reading, decoding, encoding and directly recording new information,” Osadchiy said.
AI Journey (“Journey to the World of Artificial Intelligence”) is an annual Sber conference that brings together leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence.
