The company Jet Infosystems tested the work of the Russian Baikal BE-M1000 processor in office tasks. It was compared with the laptop Intel Core i5-10210U.
The Russian chip has the following characteristics:
- CPU: 8 cores Arm Cortex A57 @ 1.5GHz
- GPU: 8 Arm Mali-T628 cores up to 750MHz
- Number of wires: 8
- L3 cache: 8MB
- Supported Memory Type: DDR4-2400, DDR3-1600
And these are for the Intel Core i5-10210U:
- CPU: 4 cores 1.6-4.2 GHz
- GPU: UHD graphics tested up to 100MHz
- Number of wires: 8.
- L3 cache: 6 MB
- Supported memory type: DDR4-2666, LPDDR3-2133, LPDDR4-2933.
The tests were conducted on the Astra Linux 1.7 operating system with the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, as well as the LibreOffice office suite with the Ark archiver.
It turned out that with “Baikal” the system easily opens documents, but if there are more than 50 pages in it, the program begins to freeze. Browsers and the archiver worked stably, and Chrome opened pages even faster in some cases.
Compared to the Intel Core i5-10210U, the domestic processor proved to be weaker in all major tests, which was expected. However, writing a boot image to a USB flash drive, it turned out, is faster on the system with Baikal.🔞 Sasha Gray took a shower live on Twitch
