It has been stated that now Redmi K20 Pro models worldwide will not receive software updates, including security patches, new versions of the proprietary MIUI shell and Android operating system.
About a month ago, it was announced that the standard Redmi K20 is also obsolete. The Redmi K20 Pro gadget is known in some countries markets under the name Mi 9T Pro. In Russia, it was the Redmi K20 Pro.
The smartphone was released in May 2019 with MIUI 10 firmware based on Android 9.0 Pie. It has always only received two MIUI and Android updates. The device is currently running MIUI 12.5 based on Android 10. According to unofficial information, the decision is due to the plans to launch a new smartphone in the Redmi K series.
Owners of Redmi K20 series smartphones in January 2022 complained on the lack of support from the manufacturer. According to them, the last update caused too many bugs on the device.
