Employees of the Nevinnomyssk Technological Institute (a branch of the North Caucasus Federal University) have developed a unique guide robot. This has been reported “News”.
It is stated that the robot was designed to help visually impaired people.
“It offers a solution that can analyze visual data <...> and use GPT language models to interpret and generate appropriate commands,” said project leader Bohdan Kolesnik.
According to him, the guide robot is able to choose the desired route and avoid obstacles, which helps its owner to move safely and efficiently.
Designers noted that the development can also recognize text printed on various surfaces.
“You can ask the robot to read the information on the product packaging, look at the date it was produced,” Kolesnik emphasized.
Before this, a team of engineers from Stanford University in the USA was created A spider-like robot called ReachBot. It is designed to explore Martian caves.
