Russian Railways, Moscow – St. Signed an agreement on the supply of two high-speed trains to the St. Petersburg line 19:35

Russian Railways (RZD) company, Moscow – St. It will purchase two high-speed trains from Iral Locomotives for the St. Petersburg line at a cost of 12 billion rubles. This was reported by press service RUSSIA RAILWAYS.

The delivery of the trains is planned to be made at the end of March 2028. Currently the Rail Transport Engineering Center is working on the design documentation of the trains. Preliminary designs have already been completed. The trains will have an 8-car layout that can connect two trains together. They will have four classes of service. The maximum speed of the trains will reach 400 km/h and they will travel at an average speed of 360 km/h.

Siemens in March 2022 suspended A contract was signed with Russian Railways for the purchase of new high-speed Sapsan trains. The contract for the purchase and maintenance of 13 new Sapsan trains was signed in 2019 and its cost is 1.1 billion Euros.

Moscow Arbitration in May 2023 collected 13 million per day with Siemens for non-delivery of Sapsanov to Russian Railways.
