As part of a new presentation, Neuralink showed its first patient, paralyzed 29-year-old Noland Arbo, who learned to play some video games with the help of a brain implant. In this respect reports DTF portal, referring to record The presentation can be viewed on X (Twitter).
A significant portion of the presentation consists of an interview with Arbaugh that lasts more than 40 minutes. Arbo talked about how the implant changed his life. After the surgery, he said he no longer felt like a quadriplegic. The implant allowed him to use computers and the internet. The man said he was getting better at doing this every day.
One of the joys that the Neuralink implant gave the man was the ability to play video games. Arbo first learned to move chess pieces and then began working on Sid Meier’s Civilization IV strategy game and arcade racer Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch. The patient joked that video games were a huge plus since he was already tired of beating his father at chess.
Noland was paralyzed from head to toe in an accident eight years ago. He underwent surgery by Neuralink specialists in January 2024. The man became Elon Musk’s company’s first human patient.
