Apple began assembly of the iPhone 15 model in Brazil, changing its global production approach to offset the country’s high import taxes and diversify its supply chain. In this respect reports MacRumor’s publication.
The assembly process takes place at Foxconn’s Sao Paulo factory and is aimed at reducing high import taxes imposed on electronic products in Brazil, which significantly increase the cost of devices for consumers in the country. For example, in Brazil, the 128GB version of the iPhone 15 currently costs 7,300 Reais (about $1,460); This is almost twice the price of the smartphone in the United States.
Only the base 6.1-inch iPhone 15 model is being assembled in Brazil. iPhone 15‌ Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max versions will continue to be imported from China. Apple’s Brazilian customers can determine whether their iPhone 15s are locally assembled by checking the model number: Devices from Brazil are identified as “BR/A,” while imported ones are identified as “BE/A” and “BZ/A.”
iPhone was introduced on September 15, 2023. The smartphone has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a brightness of up to 2000 nits, a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels and a frequency of 60 Hz. The device is powered by the A16 Bionic processor and can be updated to the latest version of iOS – 17.4.
Formerly Vivo presented Ultra-cheap Y03 smartphone with Android 14.
