At the plenary session dedicated to Artificial Intelligence Day at the international exhibition and forum “Russia”, Minister of Digital Development of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev emphasized Russia’s openness to international cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. He stated that the Russian government does not interfere with access to foreign resources specializing in artificial intelligence technologies, transmits TASS.
“We do not block foreign websites related to artificial intelligence,” the minister said.
The world’s most popular chatbots with built-in artificial intelligence, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot, and Google’s Gemini (formerly Bard), do not work in Russia. Moreover, the bans on the use of these services come from the developers themselves.
For example, when opening Google’s AI service, a message appears: “Gemini is not yet supported in your country. We will notify you when this situation changes.” The chatbot started working for everyone in May 2023. Since then, the service has not received official support in Russia. At the same time, the chatbot understands Russian and can respond to it. Many other popular services similarly refuse to work.
Previously ChatGPT statedthat blacks should do manual labor and spend time in prison more often.
