The Chelyabinsk Polet plant is preparing to launch a new model of special electromagnetic weapons that are more effective in the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In this respect reports URA.RU publication.
The main feature of the new product will be a built-in direction finder that will allow operators to locate drones operating in the 900 to 1200 MHz frequency range, out of line of sight. This makes it easier to both search and aim the gun at the target.
The power of the new weapon is enough to destroy drones at a distance of up to two kilometers. There is a removable battery that allows you to quickly charge the gun. Operating time on one battery is up to two hours. The device is small in size and weighs 4.4 kilograms.
In September 2023, the new model was successfully tested under field conditions. Using the gun, the operator was able to take down the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum and Autel Evo Lite+ drones from a distance of 1.4 and 2 kilometers, respectively.
