The Federal Security Service (FSB) aims to oblige Internet companies to store data on payments and users’ geographical locations. This was reported by Interfax.
It is stated that such measures will affect Internet sites and services that are registered with the organizers of information dissemination (ORI). In particular, the FSB plans to complete the rules on the storage of user data by adding clauses on geographical location and payment instruments.
The FSB believes that the absence of a legal obligation to retain and provide such information to authorities creates unclear law enforcement practices and reduces the effectiveness of operational investigative activities.
Before that, the press service of the Russian government statedcitizens will be able to submit and withdraw consents to the processing of their biometric personal data in the Unified Biometric System, as well as access information about such consents in their personal accounts on the State Services portal.
