Portal experts iFixitThe company, which specializes in device repair, carried out a detailed analysis of the new FineWoven iPhone 15 case using a microscope. Experts have identified a number of disadvantages and advantages of the accessory.
iFixit’s authors discovered that the fabric of the case consists of very thin fibers, about 6 microns thick. The fibers are woven in a criss-cross pattern, giving the fabric a ribbed appearance. This makes FineWoven highly tear-resistant, but at the same time the surface of the accessory scratches quite easily.
Additionally, iFixit tested how FineWoven reacts to different liquids. It turned out that the fabric does not have a waterproof coating and absorbs moisture well. During the experiment, experts managed to get rid of coffee marks, but not oil stains or sauce marks.
Finally, iFixit cut open the case and found that the accessory consists of five layers: FineWoven layers on the outside and inside, a foam layer for shock absorption, a hard plastic layer, and MagSafe charging magnets.
iFixit concluded that FineWoven requires careful handling and care to keep the accessory looking good. The official cost of FineWoven covers in the USA is $ 59 (about 5.6 thousand rubles).
