Twitch has responded to backlash from many of the site’s publishers after updating the rules and imposing new bans on ad formats in streams. According to this DexertoThe company apologized for the confusion in its initial announcement.
Many of the biggest streamers, including Asmongold and Mizkif, have spoken out against the new Twitch rules. One of them made it clear that he could stream regularly on rival service Kick “just to protest Twitch”.

“Today’s content policy update was very strict. “This has caused confusion and disappointment, and for that we apologize.”
Twitch made sure they understand the importance of monetization for streamers. “We will not limit the ability of publishers to engage directly with sponsors, and we understand that this is an important part of how publishers generate revenue,” the platform representative added.
According to Twitch, their initial announcement was worded incorrectly. “We made a mistake and we will rewrite the suggestions to be clearer. Thank you for sharing your problems and thank you for your feedback,” the service added.
The biggest anger among streamers came from limiting the size of the on-air advertising banner. According to the new rules, no more than 3% of the entire publication screen can be shown to the authors. Many bloggers considered this a de facto ban on such a form of monetization.
April Twitch blocked accounts artist Yegor Creed, as well as publishers Vyacheslav “Buster” Leontiev and Konstantin “PLOHOYPAREN” Smolyar. According to the unofficial version, the reason for this is a complaint about online casino advertising in the streams of bloggers.
