STALKER 2 developers from GSC Game World commented leaked the game and accused Russian hackers of hacking.
“We have important information we want to share. Our team has identified a vulnerability that has been exploited by a group of Russian hackers who have been attacking the company for about a year and a half. Unfortunately, they managed to access and compromise some data intended for internal testing of various aspects of the game,” GSC Game World said in a message.
The developers urged fans who want to “join the Zone in the future” not to watch or share leaked content from the game. They stated that the leaked data was used for project testing purposes and interacting with the leaked build could disrupt the gaming experience for fans after the release of STALKER 2.
A test build of the game was released online on May 30, 2023, but the project data was encrypted. Already June 1 fans discovered Among the leaked material, the right key and with its help made the STALKER 2 build operational, and then screenshots and gameplay videos of the game started appearing on the internet.
A release date for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has yet to be announced. It is known that the game was developed for PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
