Japanese company Konami shared the first details about the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake shortly after the project was officially announced at the PlayStation show. Details released Web site developer
The official rollout was limited to a short teaser and a list of announced platforms, but the post on the site shows details such as the preservation of the original voiceover and the original performer of the main theme song.
“The remake will feature unprecedented graphics and immersive audio, as well as characters with original voice acting, a rich storyline and extensive combat survivability in challenging environments,” the message says. Thus, actor David Hayter will return to the role of Snake.
At the same time, Konami has officially confirmed that the remake will be called Metal Gear Solid Δ, using the delta symbol or triangle instead of 3. The company also made it clear that the released teaser is not part of the game in the remake.
MGS 3 Remake does not have an official release date yet. It is known that the project is planned to be published on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S consoles, as well as PC via the Steam service.
Also at Konami, in honor of the remake’s announcement, they confirmed that remakes of the original games in the series will be released in the fall: Metal Gear Solid 1, MGS2, and MGS3. The collection will be released in several parts and will be called Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection.
At the end of March, the editor of the gaming portal VGC Andy Robinson knowledgeableKonami plans to announce and show the first trailer for Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake at E3 in June 2023. The show was eventually canceled, but around the same time the project was first announced at a Sony show.
The original Metal Gear Solid 3 was released on the PlayStation 2 game console in 2004. It is the third game in the MGS series created under the guidance of Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima. Also, this game is the first game in the chronology of the series. According to the plot, the American special agent “Snake” (Snake) enters the USSR to drive scientist Nikolai Sokolov out of the country and prevent the development of the Shagohod tank, which can fire nuclear missiles.
