Development of the game STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has not been stopped despite reports that the project has been frozen. Portal reports 3Dnews citing the words of a representative of GSC Game World, the studio responsible for the game.
“Please don’t believe the rumours. “Development continues as before – nothing has changed,” said GSC Game World community manager Evgeny Bazarov on the official Discord server of the STALKER series.
Prior to that, it was announced that STALKER 2 would be frozen by Daniil Nexus, a representative of the VK community “Bulletin of the Same Stalker” and co-author of a major material leak about the upcoming game. According to Nexus, development of the game was put on hold after March 11, when the Herald announced an ultimatum to the creators of the project.
Community managers announced the hacking of the Ukrainian studio developer of the game GSC Game World, demanding to “reconsider their attitude towards players from Belarus and Russia” and add Russian localization to the game. After receiving a refusal, they began to leak material about STALKER 2 on social networks. The game’s release date is scheduled for 2023.
