Apple has released security updates addressing two zero-day vulnerabilities for the latest macOS Monterey, forgetting previous versions of macOS Big Sur and Catalina, informs Intego Portal.
According to Apple, the first vulnerability allowed malicious applications to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, while the second, found in Intel graphics drivers, could expose kernel memory.
Owners of Apple computers with the latest macOS Monterey version are now safe, but the same cannot be said for those with macOS Big Sur or Catalina. At the same time, the company did not indicate that it plans to release relevant updates for previous versions of macOS.
It is stated that Apple often distributes security patches for both previous versions of the operating system, because users do not always have time to upgrade to the latest versions of macOS.
