Yandex is indeed developing its own version of the ChatGPT neural network, YaLM 2.0, which will be part of Search, Alice, Mail and other company services. This information was confirmed to socialbites.ca by the press service of the company.
“Yandex already partially uses generative neural networks in the generation of search results, but now they have a more ancillary role – they help you navigate, but do not produce consistent answers,” said the Yandex press service.
The company believes that the introduction of its own neural network will help the search engine generate answers on its own using “the knowledge of the entire digitized world.” Alice’s integration with YaLM 2.0 will help the assistant become smarter, better understand the context of the conversation, and answer more complex user questions. The company believes YaLM 2.0 could be a breakthrough technology for these services.
It was noted that the YaLM family will use all of Yandex’s supercomputers to create the next generation of neural networks: Chervonenkis, Galushkin and Lyapunov, with a total capacity of more than 50 petaflops.
The company confirmed that Izvestia is working on its own neural network, citing a source, and said it plans to create an alternative to Yandex’s popular ChatGPT neural network by the end of 2023 for its own services. The technology is expected to allow the creation of long logical and relevant texts on a simple user request. The company believes that such a neural network could have thousands of as yet unexplored uses.
