Billionaire Elon Musk, head of SpaceX and Tesla, entered the Guinness Book of Records for breaking the world record for lost personal money. It has been reported business insider referring to the organization’s press release.
“Elon Musk (South Africa) has officially broken the record for the largest loss of personal wealth in history,” the Guinness Book of Records said in a statement. It justified its decision with Forbes data showing that Musk’s personal capital had dropped by $183 billion in just one year.
Before Musk, the previous record holder was Japanese entrepreneur, Softbank founder and CEO Masayoshi Son. He lost $58.6 billion from his personal fortune in 2000.
“And don’t worry – although Musk may have lost more money than anyone else in history, he’s not going to starve any time soon. The Guinness Book of Records is still the second richest person in the world,” he added.
