YouTube Expands Hype and AI Tools to Grow Small Creators
YouTube is rolling out Hype, a new feature that helps lesser‑known creators in Canada and the United States reach broader audiences. It isn’t just about chasing views; it’s about building lasting connections between creators and their fans. Hype centers on community recommendations rather than the sheer popularity of a video, so smaller channels can gain visibility when viewers actively share and advocate for their work. This approach creates a more dynamic discovery flow across the platform, helping dedicated creators break through without waiting for a viral spike.
The Hype feature introduces a new button that lets users hype videos. This mechanism offers smaller channels a clearer path to increasing views. Videos can be promoted within seven days of publication if the channel has fewer than 500,000 subscribers, and each user can press the promote button up to three times per week. The points earned depend on the channel’s subscriber base, encouraging steady, merit‑based growth rather than one‑off spikes.
The rollout also brings personalization to the Hype experience. YouTube plans to tailor the Hype section for individual users and add filters and topic ratings. This makes it easier for viewers to discover content that resonates with their interests and for creators to receive support from their supporters in a more targeted way.
YouTube announced several features that are being rolled out this year and into the next. The Inspiration tool in YouTube Studio is designed to spark content ideas and assist with title and thumbnail generation, as well as crafting text descriptions. Inspiration has already been tested with a limited group of users and is expected to prove useful for both brainstorming and developing full projects as creators move from concept to execution.
Additionally, YouTube will integrate Veo’s neural network into the Shorts editor, enabling the creation of realistic videos. Videos produced with Veo will be clearly labeled. The plan also includes an automatic dubbing feature to translate videos into multiple languages and expanding AI tools to amplify subscriber interaction within the Communities area.
These updates are designed to support the growth of new content creators and improve the interaction between creators and viewers on the platform.
