Vladimir Pluschev, the former head coach of the Russian national team, has suggested that Dominik Hašek is drawing attention through provocative remarks, pointing to the public coverage of Hašek on Match TV.
Pluschev described Hašek as displaying signs of chronic distress, noting that the person appears overwhelmed and frequently races between extreme statements and controversial behavior. He emphasized that the situation is troubling for Hašek himself and for observers alike. “As a human being, one can’t help feeling concern for him”, Pluschev said, adding that Hašek seems to be trying to appear more distressed than others in the public eye.
Hašek has been openly critical of the Czech government for not enforcing a legal restriction on local athletes competing in Russia. He has also opposed the participation of Russian players in international sports since the onset of the special military operation. Hašek has repeatedly criticized leadership in the National Hockey League for not banning Russian players from tournaments following the start of the conflict.
Previously, Hašek explained his decision not to return money he earned during his time in Russia, a point that has drawn additional scrutiny from observers and critics alike.
