Usyk vs Fury Fight Talk: Gadzhiev Comments and Fight Context

Russian organizer Kamil Gadzhiev, who leads the AMC Fight Nights Global league, commented on the anticipated contest between Ukrainian boxing star Oleksandr Usyk and British challenger Tyson Fury, urging observers not to pressure either side into speaking Ukrainian and to keep the focus on the sporting clash.

“Usyk and Fury have reached an agreement on a date for the bout. On a personal note, I have stepped back from supporting Usyk in recent times.

There was a time when this stance affected me deeply, but that feeling has diminished. In my view, Usyk’s public positions sometimes push toward extremes. While politics may be involved, this discussion remains strictly about the ring and the competition here.

It could be a wildly entertaining fight. For us, Fury holds a particular intrigue—more so than Joshua—because this matchup sits in the post-Soviet boxing landscape and carries significant regional interest.

Speculation remains that the showdown could unfold in April, adding even more anticipation to what promises to be a highly charged matchup.

Usyk last stepped into the ring in Saudi Arabia on August 20, where he defeated British opponent Anthony Joshua. The Ukrainian boxer has retained world champion status across multiple federations, holding the IBF, WBO, IBO, and WBA titles, underscoring his standing in the sport.

Fury continues to boast an undefeated record, having fought 34 times with 33 victories and one draw, a record that adds to the drama when the two champions finally meet in the ring.

Earlier remarks attributed to Usyk called for restraint, emphasizing that the sport should not be a battleground for language pressures or political disputes outside the arena of competition.
