Alexander Krasyuk, the manager for Ukrainian boxing star Alexander Usik, confirmed via a statement circulated by the Youtube channel iFL TV that a scheduled bout with Tyson Fury will not occur in 2023.

The promoter emphasized flexibility, noting that Usyk will not step into the ring on December 23. Instead, the fight has been pushed to the early part of 2024. Krasyuk added that Usyk is currently producing promotional materials for the event and will later return to training camp in Spain.

In the meantime, Tyson Fury went on to defeat former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a Saudi-hosted tournament held on October 29.

Earlier, on March 2, word emerged that the Usyk-Fury clash had hit another snag. The heavyweight showdown, initially set for April 2023, was subsequently moved to December, only to be postponed again.

Usyk’s most recent ring appearance occurred in Poland on August 26, where he defeated British challenger Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian boxer retained the world championship titles across multiple sanctioning bodies—the IBF, WBO, IBO, and WBA.

There was also mention of Fury’s remarks during a past confrontation, which fans and analysts have cited as part of the ongoing promotion and narrative between the two heavyweights.
