In the wake of Cadena SER revealing the Negreira case, which showed that Fútbol Club Barcelona paid Enríquez Negreira, former vice president of the Technical Commission of Referees, there are signs that Real Madrid is weighing legal action. The club announced it would pursue formal proceedings after a complaint filed this Friday against Barcelona and two of its presidents, Sandro Rosell and Josep María Bartomeu, drew scrutiny.
Consequently, the Madrid side called an urgent Board of Directors meeting for Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. The council will examine the matter in depth and determine whether legal action is warranted in light of the allegations reported.

Given the gravity of accusations raised by the Barcelona Prosecutor’s Office against FC Barcelona and two of its presidents regarding well-founded suspicions of corruption and their ties to José María Enríquez Negreira, the president has convened an urgent Board of Directors meeting for Sunday, March 12, 2023, at noon. The purpose is to decide which actions Real Madrid deems appropriate in relation to this matter and to set a clear course of response.
