With four giants in contention, the Spanish Super Cup returns to Saudi Arabia for this year’s edition. The format is simple: one champion emerges from the two semi-finals, and there is no consolation match for third place among the other three teams.

How much money do the teams earn in the 2023 Spanish Super Cup: prize distribution for Real Madrid, Betis, Barcelona, and Valencia

The economic structure of the Spanish Super Cup has grown since its relocation to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to reports, the federation arms the tournament with a total pool of around 40 million euros. Real Madrid and Barcelona are poised to receive a larger slice since they finished higher in the standings.

Specifically, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are projected to receive 2.8 million euros each. Real Betis, who won the Copa del Rey and earned a spot in Jeddah by virtue of that triumph, is allocated about 750,000 euros. Valencia, the runner-up in the domestic cup, secures roughly 1.7 million euros. In addition, the four clubs will receive approximately 300,000 euros to cover travel and hotel accommodations.

Of the initial 40 million euros, the RFEF retains 23.8 million, with about twenty million allocated to professional football and a sum approaching four million directed to the Kosmos organization, the company associated with Gerard Piqué that helped manage the contract with the federation.

If neither Madrid nor Barcelona advances to the final, the total prize pool would drop to 35 million euros, while the eventual champions claim a larger share of the remaining amount.
