Real Madrid then claimed the title in 2022 by defeating FC Barcelona in the semifinals and Athletic Club de Bilbao in the final, both fixtures delivering intense action.

How the tournament operates:
Four clubs compete in a semi final format. The two top finishers from La Liga and the two Copa del Rey finalists face off, with no third place match. The winner advances to the final.
For the 2022-2023 season the participants were Betis as Copa del Rey champions, Valencia as cup runner-up, Real Madrid as La Liga champions, and Barcelona as league runners-up.

The regulations state that the league champions Real Madrid will meet the Copa del Rey runners-up Valencia, while the Copa del Rey winner Real Betis faces the league runners-up Barcelona.
Additionally, the four finalists receive a bye past the first two rounds of the Copa del Rey.
Venue and host cities
The competition’s first seasons featured a Saudi Arabia location after a2020-2021 pandemic adjustment anchored in Spain, with semifinals in Córdoba and Málaga and the final at the Cartuja Stadium in Seville. The 2023 Final Four is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, a venue capable of hosting more than 60,000 spectators.
Date and kickoff times
The organizing body has confirmed that the semi finals will be played on January 11 and 12 at 8:00 PM local time, with the final scheduled for Sunday January 15 at the same hour. The competition began with Real Madrid overcoming Valencia on penalties after a 1-1 regulation result, while Barcelona edged Betis in a similar fashion after a 2-2 draw.
