The 16 First Division clubs may register up to three footballers, including players returning from loan spells.

The opening round of the National Championship 2023 and the 16 clubs comprising the First Division aim to bolster their squads for the second half of the season, which gets underway in mid July with the second weekend of action.

Under Article 13 of the Principles for Domestic Competition, the window to begin the player authorization requests opens next Monday the 22nd and closes before the start of the nineteenth matchday.

In other words, the deadline to finalize new withdrawals runs until the business day prior to the fourth weekend that begins play on the weekend of July 30.

It should be noted that top-tier teams may sign players who were registered with another club during the first round, as provided for by Article 16. While professional football contracts typically specify a season end date, these contracts keep the player registrations valid until the close of the club’s final competition or official match, whether in national or international tournaments.

How many players can be included in the second round transfer market?

Article 13, which governs the deadline for submitting authorization requests, clarifies that clubs may register up to three new footballers. Those who return from loan and rejoin the parent club will not count toward this three-player limit.

Any club that permanently or temporarily transfers a player for a fee of USD 250,000 or more may replace him without counting against the three new signings. The payment must be verified through the transfer management system and or the payment of a release clause to another club, and or an inter-club transfer agreement. The Registry Area has a 24-hour window to review history and proceed with qualification if needed.

In GOAL we cover the developments, rumors, and outcomes of the domestic competition whose transfer window closes at 23:59 on the business day before the fourth matchday of the second round, as stipulated by Rule 13 of the Tournament Rules.
