Sports officials noted that the initial distribution of chip numbers allowed a December 29 deadline, but a late request prompted a reserve pool of up to seven thousand bibs. By the close of the day, registrations stood at six thousand runners, leaving room for a final wave of one thousand entries before the cap is reached.
Among the registered elite aiming for victory in the men’s field are Abdurramán Al Hayami, the current race registrar; Moha Reda, winner of the City of Elda 5K; and Victor Bottle, the winner of the Flying Goal in 2019. Their presence adds a high level of competition to a race that rewards both speed and strategy.
