The Copa del Rey has seen a significant rise in commercial value, with the RFEF reporting that national and international media rights sales could surpass 120 million euros. The federation notes that average annual rights revenue has risen sharply over recent seasons, with broader international distribution anticipated to push this figure even higher in the coming years.
Movistar+ as a major broadcaster
Beyond RTVE, Movistar+ has secured a major portion of the cup catalog. The deal allows Movistar Plus+ to broadcast at least 55 matches per season, with many clashes exclusive to the platform. The agreement covers matches from the later rounds, up through the semi-finals and final. Some rounds will be shared with RTVE, which will still televise several games.
